Hi, I'm Kirill

Senior Java / Kotlin Backend Developer

I build and operate distributed microservices for fintech on the Spring ecosystem — reactive WebFlux/R2DBC, event-driven Kafka pipelines, and Kubernetes deployments. Focused on correctness, idempotency, and performance.

About me

Java/Kotlin backend developer with 6+ years of commercial experience, ~4.5 of them in fintech. I build and operate distributed microservices on the Spring ecosystem: reactive WebFlux/R2DBC, event-driven processing with Kafka, and Kubernetes-based deployments — most recently the Wildberries installment-lending platform. I focus on correctness, idempotency of financial operations, reliable third-party integrations, and query/performance optimization, and I am comfortable using modern AI tooling in my workflow.

Wildberries Installment Platform

Remote

2025 — present
  • Backend for installment purchases offered through Wildberries (client: a microfinance organization). End-to-end flow: application intake from Wildberries → data enrichment (DaData: address/identity) → scoring orchestration with the MFO → approval decisions and overdue-payment handling.
  • Designed and owned several of the platform's ~10 microservices (application handling, data enrichment, payments): reactive Kotlin (Spring WebFlux, R2DBC/PostgreSQL), Kafka, Redis, RSocket between services behind an API gateway; Kubernetes (Yandex Cloud).

Remote

  • Debit-card issuance and payments (Maps.me); cargo-insurance platform (underwriting, bulk policy issuance up to 10K records via Excel, PDF generation).
  • Authored internal Spring starters (request logging, distributed tracing, data masking, S3) reused across the service fleet; GitLab CI/CD and Helm deploys; observability via OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Migrated inter-service calls from gRPC to RSocket, removing protobuf-mapping overhead.
  • Optimized hot endpoints (~2–3×): query-plan analysis, indexing, offset→keyset pagination, Redis caching, and PostgreSQL tuning.
  • Code review and mentoring of 2 junior developers.

June 2020 — August 2021
  • Server software for industrial telemetry over MQTT (event-driven); PostgreSQL schema with indexing under load.
  • Spring Security (role-based access, JWT); versioned REST APIs.
  • Trained an ML model for rail-car number recognition on a proprietary dataset (image preprocessing, Hadoop/Spark), integrated with the backend.

Sibir-Soft (SSP)

Novokuznetsk, Russia

2018 — 2020
  • Full-stack development for a closed module of a state procurement platform (zakupki.gov.ru): delivered new features per specification and resolved defects across backend and frontend.
  • Backend: Java, JPA, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, schema migrations (Liquibase), deployment on JBoss. Frontend: Angular.
